Scientific Research and Higher Education Center of Ensenada, Baja California

The Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education of Ensenada, Baja California, was created in 1973 by the federal government as part of the initiative to decentralize scientific activities and modernize the country. CICESE belongs to the system of public research centers of the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) and over more than four decades, it has evolved to become one of the main scientific centers in Mexico.

CICESE is a reference institution in the national and international scientific context; its academic excellence supports national development, the training of human resources and contributes to generating knowledge that can help in the solution of problems that affect the social and economic environment of Mexico.
